China lights fireworks to celebrate everything! Plus it scares off evil spirits. Businesses will also send flowers such as the ones pictured upon the opening of a new business.

Congratulations to my cousin Chris and my new cousin-in-law Denise! They are getting married today, and I think it’s safe to say I am the first person to say Congratulations on the day of the wedding, as we’re 13 hours ahead of you now.
Next year, we’ll be in the US for Pete and Sara’s wedding on July 3rd. I’ve been waiting 2 years to get to go to the US in the summer! Thanks for the excuse, Pete and Sara!

Fireworks on Chinese New Year
The fireworks on Chinese New Year were the craziest thing we’ve ever seen!! We watched the WHOLE city explode for about 30 minutes. Imagine 20 million people all setting off fireworks at the same time… After about 20 minutes the smoke blocked our view of all but the closest ones. Check it out!!
Our apartment people set off a lot too. They were really close to the balcony!
