Noah - 2 months

Today was Julie's birthday so I offered to babysit Noah while they went to dinner. He's two months old now! What a cutie. He was so good for me - just wanted to have his bottle and be rocked. Very easy. Not even any stinky diapers. They can ask me to babysit anytime!

More Evan!

Evan

This is Evan. He just turned 1 last week and his dad Matt works with me. Matt and his wife Amber brought Evan over for his photos on Sunday. They had a whole bag of tricks trying to get him to smile -singing, dancing, toys, etc. One thing that worked was Cheerios. That made me laugh because we have a photo of my husband Jon with a bag of marshmellows. The only way the photographer could get Jon NOT to cry was to let him have the marshmellows! How funny. This is my favorite from the session, I think. My backdrop was super-wrinkled and I hate it. I used the blur filter heavily on the background to get rid of the sharpest lines.

I worked from home today to be able to concentrate on a few things. This bunny was outside by our deck. Nice shot with the 300 mm lens, I think!

Georgie Porgie

It isn't working out with him and Boots. She is too used to being Queen and living by herself, and he is trying to rule over her. Our friend Molly has been wanting to get a cat for her dog Chief, and George loves big dogs. Chief is a really chilled out dog and could use the company when she is at work. So she is going to try taking him for a while to see how things work out. Tomorrow she is going to pick him up to introduce them. I really hope they like each other! He is such a nice loving kitty, he has to go to a good home.

I gave a speech today at Toastmasters. I had Matt take this photo with my Treo 650 at the beginning of my speech and send it to my blog to illustrate mobile blogging. Fun!

Stay....

I had three guys with treats trying to get all of the dogs to pose - it was pretty chaotic! This is the best one. Bailey, Blaze and Loci. Chief refused to be in the photo. I wish Bailey didn't have her head back so far, but I took what I could get at the moment.

Billy and Mandy

I took engagment photos for Billy and Mandy today. They were SO fun to shoot! We went out to a little piece of land that Mandy's dad owns for the shoot. I made them climb hay bales, run through the field, and sit on a flatbed. Mandy and I got attacked by ticks too but it was well worth it! They are so photogenic - I got some amazing photos!

Boots is Mad

Boots still hates George. She also hates us for bringing another cat home. We're working on this. Hopefully they'll become buddies eventually!

Georgie Porgie

George came home with us today. His mom Robin had to give him up because she is moving in with her fiance and he is severly allergic to cats. George is pretty pudgy and he thinks he's a dog. He drools and rubs and loves everyone. Our cat hates him so far.

My Studio

This is the latest backdrop that I've dyed. I like the way it turned out. I liked it so much that I actually re-dyed the last one I did using this method. You can also see my "studio lights" - not much now, but I am pouring more money into my camera, lenses, etc. that studio equipment right now.

Spring!!

It is SPRING in South Dakota!!! It's been raining like crazy and green is popping up through all of the brown. I love spring and summer!

Boots cracks me up. She loves my laptop. She won't leave it alone. She likes to nap on it too.

Experimenting with the off-camera flash - I discovered even though my ProMaster flash doesn't work with the XT, the camera cable does! I caught Boots right after Soft-food Sunday. She gets special yummy soft food for Sunday dinner every week. Yeah, she's a bit spoiled. :-)

Dinner time

More fish, this time they are eating. Fish are really hard to photograph but I'm pretty happy when I manage to capture them. I would love to go snorkeling or scuba diving and shoot saltwater fish. That would be amazing!!

Windshield View of Bear Butte (August 2002)

At DPChallenge today, there was a 24-hour Speed Challenge. The suject was 2002. Basically, you could enter any photo taken in 2002. I searched my harddrive and found this. It was taken when we were moving from Nisland, SD (where my in-laws live and Jon and I lived during that summer) back to Brookings. I had an Olympus 1.3 megapixel camera. Now my PDA has a 1.3 megapixel camera in it. Amazing how quickly technology evolves.

Fishy

I ordered a 50 mm f1.8 lens from Amazon last week. It finally came today. I am looking forward to using it during weddings and other no-flash situations. This fishy turned out pretty well with it.
