Pay Attention to Your Life

by emily on June 16, 2009

This sign was for a home furnishings store. However, I think it should be on all streets, crosswalks, and sidewalks in China.

“Pay Attention to Your Life” is a very important safety notice.

  1. It’s very interesting to know how a foreigner feels in China. Indeed walking on the streets is one of the most dangerous things one have to do everyday. As a native, a useful tip I’d like to share maybe works for you whenever/wherever you cross streets.
    First of the firsts, drivers first. Don’t expect drivers will stop for you; 2) Tuck your ties or ribons in your suits;
    3) keep looking leftward and rightward until you reach the opposite sidewalks.
    Time will help you get used to everything here in China : )

  2. Thanks for the advice. I’ve lived here for over two years so I’m not sure how much more time it will take to get “used” to China. Actually, I still try to see everything in a new and interesting way and not let the “interesting” parts become just the norm.
