Treasure Island
Dave used to live on this island so showed us around it. The island was created for an exhibition and then used as a naval base. Now everything is basically falling apart, but the views are really great!

Treasure Island was created on soil dredged up from San Francisco Bay for the 1939 World Fair & Exhibition.
I served in the U.S. Navy during WWll, and passed thru Treasure Island on my way to assignment to a Naval Destroyer USS Morris DD-417 for Pacific duty.
In those days the Navy used a number of large buildings left over from the 1939 Fair. The light rail Key System
ran on one level of the Bay Bridge, with a stop on "Goat" Island [Yerba Buena Island.]
